Seeing a "Sorry, you have been blocked" message while managing your website? Don't panic — this is Roam's security system doing its job.
Why Does This Happen?
Our platform uses a Web Application Firewall (WAF) powered by Cloudflare, which monitors for suspicious activity. Certain actions can trigger it — a common example is embedding a Mailchimp form or popup, where the embed code contains inline scripts and external form actions that the WAF flags as potentially suspicious. Totally normal behaviour for a robust security setup.
How to Get It Fixed
To investigate and whitelist the blocked action, we'll need two things from you:
-
Your Cloudflare Ray ID — this is a unique string displayed at the bottom of the blocked page, and looks something like this:
Ray ID: 8a1b2c3d4e5f6789 - A full, uncropped screenshot of the error page — it's important the Ray ID is visible in the screenshot
Once we have these, we can review the flagged request and whitelist it so you can get back to work.
How to Find Your Ray ID
Look for the Ray ID at the very bottom of the "Sorry, you have been blocked" error screen. Make sure your screenshot captures the entire page so the ID string isn't cut off.
Send these through to our support team via the Roam Support Portal and we'll get it sorted for you promptly.
