An entry (page, blog, product) can be saved as a draft, published and disabled. You can set a date and time to publish or disable any entry, and rollback to previous versions.
This article covers the above functionality and how to use it in a little more detail.
- Save an article as a draft
- Add post and expiry dates
- Review and revert to a previous version of a page
- Disable a page
Save an article as a draft
Within the save dropdown, you have the option to save your entry as a draft. Saving as draft will ensure your content is updated but not published live.
Add post and expiry dates
Post Date and Expiry Date can be applied to any entry. This is useful for scheduling content releases and ensuring content disappears from your website when it is no longer relevant (e.g. a time-limited offer or event).
To add a post date and/or expiry date, click on the calendar and clock icons on the right-hand of your entry and save when you’re ready.
Revert to a previous version of a page
To review previous versions of pages, simply click on the dropdown to the right of title displaying "Current", and a list of previous versions of the page, along with edit date and author, will appear.
To preview a previous version (see what the page looked like without publishing), click "Preview" in the top right.
To revert to a previous version (switch back to a previous version and publish that live) follow the below steps.
- Click on the current dropdown menu (top left) and select the desired version.
- Once you've located the right version, click the grey Revert entry to this version button (top right). The selected version will now be live.
Pro tip: Add an internal note about the change to advise colleagues. You can find this field in the settings box to the right of your entry.
Disable a page
Switch the Enabled button from green to grey. Once grey, the page is no longer live. Slide it back to republish the page.
