Navigation is the primary tool users (and search engines) use to understand the most important information hosted on your website.
Roam allows you to fully customise what links to include in your navigation as well as adjust the style of the navigation to work with the number of links you need to support.
Editing your navigations:
- Head to the Navigation tab on the left-hand side of the platform
- Choose between the Header or Footer settings.
- Click +Add an entry on the right-hand side panel and select the page you wish to link to.
- To remove a link hover over the title and a red cross (x) will appear. Click this to delete the entry.

Header Navigation:
Header Navigation is the main navigation bar on your website. For optimal user experience, we recommend highlighting the key site sections within the first level of your navigation.
If your site has been set up with Mega Menu navigation then any sub-pages added to the second and third layer of the navigation will appear when visitors hover over the navigation link.
Pro tip: Navigation links can be reordered through drag and drop at any point. As you move the headings around they will automatically save and update across your website.
Footer Navigation:
Roam also allows you to fully customise your Footer navigation links within the platform. Here you might like to reference your sitemap, privacy policy or contact us page. To edit your footer follow the same steps as above but under the Footer entry.
Note: any changes made to your header or footer navigation will reflect across the site after 24 hours when the Roam platform re-caches your content.
