Image
The standard for responsive websites is between 2000-2500 max pixels width x 1500px max height, JPEG format quality 90 at 72dpi (dpi = dimensions per pixel)
Regardless of the file format (JPG, PNG, GIF, TIF, etc.), you should never upload high-resolution images to your site just for display purposes. Large images take longer to upload and are slower to optimise.
For full-width slideshows (that automatically stretch to the full browser size), we recommend 2560 pixels in width, which is the standard resolution width for 27″ and 30″ monitors.
Video
Here are our recommendations for homepage video specifications:
- Maximum file size of 5 MB
- For header, we recommend using short, high-quality videos with no text. Because of various screen sizes, it is very likely that any text that's embedded in the videos will be cut off, affecting user experience.
- You can host longer videos on YouTube or Vimeo and place a link within the page's body using the Video component
- The minimum resolution we recommend is 720p or higher:
3840x2160 (2160p)
2560x1440 (1440p)
1920x1080 (1080p)
1280x720 (720p) - We recommend using mp4 video file
