Page builder content blocks + what they do

Page Builder content blocks are sections of a page you can drag & drop on any entry. They are also known as components to your page. Content blocks can be enabled, disabled, deleted or moved around a page.

We've created a complete list of the Roam content blocks. Use this as a reference when building a page to understand how to get the most from each content block.

• Hero
  The hero block is only available on the homepage entry. It allows you to add a high-impact "hero" to your page which can include images, text and/or a search field. Heroes can be configured based on the look & feel and desired outcome.
  
  
• Text
  The text block allows you to add text to your page. Text can be formatted for style and SEO, including headings (H1-H6), lead paragraphs, paragraphs and hyperlinks. The text block allows you to embed images but we recommend using specific content blocks such as Images or Image & text for design impact.
  
  
• Images
  The Images block allows you to add visual assets to your page in either a grid or carousel layout. The images can either link to a new page or remain static.
  
  
• Images & Text
  The Images & text block allows you to showcase an image or images alongside a short block of text. You can alternate Image & Text blocks left and right to create layers of visual interest.
  
  
• Video 
  The video block allows you to embed a YouTube or Vimeo link. We’ve set up Google Analytics video tracking so you can monitor how many views you’re getting.
  
  
• Products
  The Products block allows you to add operator and event listings. It can be used to showcase bookable activities and drive conversions. 
  
  
• Blockquote
  The Blockquote block allows you to add a breakout quote on your page. They are useful for adding social proof, such as a testimonial, or breaking up large bodies to help readers skim.
  
  
• Code snippet
  The  Code snippet block an advanced tool that lets you add lightweight custom code to a page. For instance, when you want to embed third-party widgets onto a page, such as a form or a social feed.
  
  Note: not all websites offer the functionality of embeddable widgets for other websites to use. You might have to do a bit of research to see whether the website you want to embed caters for this or not. Alternatively, you can always hyperlink to their site.
  
  
• Code & Text
  The Code & Text block allows you to embed third-party widgets to your page with text to the left or right.
  
  Note: not all websites offer the functionality of embeddable widgets for other websites to use. You might have to do a bit of research to see whether the website you want to embed caters for this or not. Alternatively, you can always hyperlink to their site.
  
  
• Related Content
  This component is being deprecated in the coming months in favour of enhanced pages and products components. Please refrain from using this component to save having to update your pages down the track.
   
• Form
  The Form block allows you to insert a form on any page. Forms are complex and bound by legal requirements, therefore, Roam’s customer support team will need to assist you in the creation of any new forms. Submit a support request here: support@roamhq.io.
  
  
• Widget
  The Widget block helps you manage internal components with complex data structures, such as a newsletter opt-in form or Instagram feed integration. You will first need to create your widget in the Widget section of the platform. This can be found via Pages then widgets. Once your widget is made you can then select it via the widget block under page builder.
  
  
• Featured
  This component is being deprecated in the coming months in favour of an enhanced banner widget option. Please refrain from using this component to save having to update your pages down the track. 
  
  
• Pages
  The Pages block allows you to display and link to a collection of related pages. The pages appear in a grid format with the image and title of the linked page. A typical use would be in suggesting other category landing pages i.e. destinations or things to do.
